Our Scope

Dakota has designed, built and installed projects in Western Australia as far North as Kununurra down to Pemberton in the South. Interstate, projects have been successfully completed in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Darwin.

Internationally we have proudly achieved success in London, Paris, Berlin, Beijing, Bahrain, Kuwait and Riyadh.

Dakota has a proven track record of skills and expertise to successfully complete projects both large and small for a wide client base almost anywhere in the world.

Our Expertise

Our core business is Design and Project Management in Hospitality, Retail & Commercial areas with it extending to the boutique residential market, furniture design, offices and boardrooms, fitness, health & leisure and showrooms. Dakota delivers time and cost-efficient outcomes that enable our clients to generate income and an exceptional user experience.

Our Story

Dakota Design was founded by multi-award-winning designer Peter Carman and has grown organically, establishing itself through strong contacts, extensive industry experience and a desire to design and build better.

Our highly experienced team has learnt the industry well over many years and has grown from a manufacturing workshop in Osborne Park where all designs were originally manufactured in-house. We now project manage the build with an external team and extend a level of professionalism with a laser focus on productivity, efficiency and an economical approach to every project.

Our Founder

Peter Carman, Dakota Founder, provides abilities tried and tested over 30 years in bringing unique, innovative and creative ideas into being for the commercial or domestic environment. He believes that “Imagination is everything” when beginning the creative process and that all things must be considered within the space as a whole to achieve flow, ergonomic practicality and harmony to the design on each individual project. He holds dear to the famous lines of Robert Kenned: “Some men see things as they are, and ask why. I dream of things that never were, and ask why not.” He can design the entire project for you or work closely with you to help realize your dream in every detail.

With over 30 years of experience in the building, construction and shopfitting industry, and several years of experience in the film and TV industry, his expertise can ensure cost-effective solutions are applied to this creativity to achieve extraordinary results within all budget levels.
